Christian Pulisic is out for a few weeks and Callum Hudson-Odoi is likely to compete to replace the USMNT star in the Chelsea starting eleven against Burnley.

Frank Lampard will be looking towards his players to get a reaction out of them after their 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion last gameweek along with the hope of improving their poor home form. Chelsea take on Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is an undisputed choice in goal for Chelsea and will start for the club against Burnley on Saturday. In defence, Marcos Alonso is out injured. While Emerson Palmieri is available, we should see Reece James stationed on the right side of the back four, with Cesar Azpilicueta going back to the left. Fikayo Tomori should partner Antonio Rudiger at centre-back.

In midfield, Mateo Kovacic would hope to return to the starting eleven. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho should partner the Croatian international in the middle of the park. Frank Lampard addressed the media in his pre-match conference regarding the fitness status of Marcos Alonso, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic, who is also out for a considerable period.

“Christian is out for a few weeks. He was injured in training last Saturday before Nottingham Forest. It’s a tendon injury in the adductor so we’ll have to see how quickly he recovers because it’s quite a nasty injury and he was in pain when it happened.”

“Marcos Alonso is recovering. He trained today but he won’t be ready for tomorrow. Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] is still out and he’s out for a while but hopefully he’ll start getting involved in a bit of collective football, maybe with the Academy to get his eye in slightly in terms of playing because he’s at that stage now.”

In Pulisic’s absence, Callum Hudson-Odoi would be looking to earn a start after his performance in the FA Cup last weekend. The Englishman should start on the left, with Willian on the right. Olivier Giroud is also out of action, with Tammy Abraham likely to lead the Chelsea line against Burnley.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Kepa; James, Rudiger, Tomori, Azpilicueta; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi
