Real Madrid are reportedly in advanced talks to land Brazilian international Neymar from PSG in a shock move.
According to Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez, Real Madrid have begun serious discussions with PSG over the prospect of snapping up Neymar. The two European giants are in advanced negotiations over the Brazilian international, with talks expected to advance further in the coming days, which have been termed as “key”.

Neymar is a player who has always been on the agenda for Real Madrid. Los Blancos had famously engaged in a transfer war with Barcelona before the then-young prodigy picked the Catalans. At Barcelona, Neymar enjoyed four successful years, winning a multitude of trophies while establishing himself as one of the best players in the world. B
in the summer of 2017, he sent shockwaves by choosing to join PSG. While the Brazilian international has managed to remain a prolific player at Parc des Princes, injuries have restricted his participation heavily. And, heading into the summer transfer window, the player has managed to alienate himself in the dressing room.
Disciplinary issues have proven to be the last straw for the Ligue 1 champions, with Neymar increasingly unsettled at the club as well. As a result, he has been heavily linked with a summer exit from the French capital. For a long time, it was believed that a return to Barcelona could be on the cards.
But, Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner recently ruled out a move for the Brazilian international. And even though Gerard Pique has left a potential return up in the air, it has now emerged that Real Madrid are showing an interest in swooping Neymar away from PSG.
The interest from Real Madrid comes as a bit of a surprise, though. The Merengues have been active in the transfer market this summer, with attack particularly receiving a lot of attention. And so, with Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic arriving at the Bernabeu, it is unclear as to how Neymar would slot into the side.
The addition of Neymar could, however, create a fluid attacking arsenal, with Hazard, Jovic and Karim Benzema in tow, helping Real Madrid create a fearsome unit, in theory. And, as per Jose Alvarez, Los Blancos are in advanced negotiations with PSG over the Brazilian international.
Alvarez claims that the two clubs are looking to advance their discussions further in the coming days, which are “key” for the transfer to go through. And, if Real Madrid are able to make any progress in their talks with PSG, Neymar could soon be the latest superstar to be a part of their summer revamp.
If Jose Alvarez is anything to go by, the next few days will be crucial, if Real Madrid are to create shockwaves of their own and sign Neymar. It now remains to be seen how their talks progress with PSG, who are believed to be open to selling the disgruntled Brazilian.
