Chelsea are preparing changes to their forward line with Alexander Isak, who is also a target for Real Madrid, reportedly high on their wishlist.
Chelsea are going through uncertain times with the transfer embargo looming over their head. The club are currently in a dilemma with regards to transfers, but that has not stopped any links to players for the summer window. Daily Mirror are reporting of a possible Chelsea interest in Alexander Isak, who is dubbed as the new ‘Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ and is also a target for Real Madrid.
The Blues have been handed a two-window transfer ban for breaching FIFA rules over youth signings. Chelsea have an impending decision on their appeal over the ban, and while uncertainties around the ban remain, the West Londoners are keeping their options open as far as transfers are concerned.
Chelsea though, have their fair share of issues as far as the forward line is concerned, and if things go their way an overhaul could be expected. Swedish striker Alexander Isak is the latest name to be linked with the club and Chelsea will look for an opportunity to make the transfer happen.
The Swede has other suitors as well, with Real Madrid believed to be in the running for the striker as well, alongside Barcelona and others, as per widespread reports. Madrid are interested in investing in the young striker, who for many resembles Zlatan Ibrahimovic, possibly due to his significant physical presence.
The move would be in sync with Real Madrid’s recent policy of bringing in young prospects with a firm eye on the future of the club, although the chances are far less for Isak to be starting games at the Bernabeu straightaway, with Karim Benzema being in such fine form this season.
At Chelsea too, he is expected to provide options from the bench rather than start games immediately. Having said that, on-loan striker Gonzalo Higuain has not managed to be a reliable figure, while Olivier Giroud is seemingly unhappy with his bit-part role at the club. The situation pertaining to both the strikers could stand Isak in good stead, should he make his way to Stamford Bridge.
Isak could be a good option for either side interested in him, especially Chelsea, who have in the last few seasons grown a style that’s come to be suitable for big strikers such as the Swede. Isak is a Borussia Dortmund prospect, who is on loan at Willem II and has scored 11 goals in 11 appearances for the Dutch side.
The transfer ban verdict could have a devastating effect on Chelsea, and the Blues are expected to go heavy in the market if their ban is lifted temporarily. Isak could prove to be a good investment, and Chelsea can count on a player of his quality to help them during the season, if not from the start, although Real Madrid might have something to say on the transfer as well.
