Jose Mourinho looks intent on adding Willian to his Manchester United squad and is reportedly preparing a £60 million move for the Chelsea superstar.

It’s a rumour that refuses to take the back seat anytime soon. With Manchester United in the market for a right winger, The Sun are claiming that Jose Mourinho is looking for a reunion with Chelsea superstar Willian at Old Trafford. The Portuguese is reportedly prepared to shell out £60 million to land the Brazilian winger.

Willian has arguably been the best performing and the most consistent star for Chelsea over the last 3 seasons combined. While others have had their fair share of days on the field, the Brazilian has hardly let the fans down in recent times.

But, that Willian was not a fit in Conte’s tactical plan and formation was not news to anyone. Still, the Brazilian’s will power and determination is evidenced by the fact that the winger made it back into the manager’s plans and became a mainstay for Chelsea under Conte as well.

However, there appears to bad blood between the manager and Willian, as evidenced by some of the Brazilian’s social media antics. Both of them are being linked with an exit from Chelsea, with Willian attracting interest from a former manager, Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side.

Manchester United’s attack is left-heavy featuring the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. Juan Mata is the only one who has performed up to expectations on the right. But, the Spaniard is more an inside play-maker than an out-and-out winger, which is what Mourinho needs on the right, especially with a forward like Romelu Lukaku upfront.

Willian’s crossing ability has been abject and subject to criticism by his fans. But, there is no shred of doubt that Manchester United could do with a player capable of using his flair and pace to cause terror on the right.

The need has been accentuated by reports of Anthony Martial seeking an exit from Manchester United, something United are hoping to price suitors out of, with the club intent on keeping the Frenchman at Old Trafford.

Still, with Chelsea not having the same financial backing in the transfer market like before, the £60 million from Willian’s sale could be used to reinvest in other departments or to bring players in, something Eden Hazard has said his future could rely upon.

If Manchester United are really serious about landing Willian, chances are they will, especially if they come in with a bid of £60 million. Any deal though, will have to wait until the end of the World Cup, by which time Chelsea would hope to clear the uncertainty revolving around Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge.
