AC Milan have reportedly slapped a €60 million price tag on Gianluigi Donnarumma amid interest from Real Madrid over a summer move.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, AC Milan are ready to part ways with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer transfer window. The Italian goalkeeper, who is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, will be available for €60 million.

Donnarumma is a player who has had a lot of hype and excitement surrounding his talent since he first broke into the first-team setup at AC Milan at the nascent age of 16. Since then, he has grown leaps and bounds and is seen as the long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon within the senior Italian setup.

The teenager has been a standout performer in an inconsistent AC Milan side this season, keeping 21 clean sheets in 47 appearances across all competitions. But, his future has been the subject of widespread speculation over the last twelve months, with the player linked with several big-name clubs, with Real Madrid leading the race to sign him.

Los Blancos’ need to sign a goalkeeper is well documented, thanks largely to the inconsistent performances of Keylor Navas over the last two seasons. The Costa Rican has been far from his best this season as well, which has contributed enormously to Real Madrid’s poor defensive output.

Navas’s deputy, Kiko Casilla, meanwhile, is not seen as a first-choice goalkeeper by Zinedine Zidane, which is why the need to sign a goalkeeper is urgent for Real Madrid. The Spanish and European champions have been heavily linked with David De Gea, but the Manchester United number one is unlikely to move away from Old Trafford.

Donnarumma is, thus, a viable target for Real Madrid, who could have a long-term solution in goal in the Italian custodian. Recent reports had suggested that AC Milan were unwilling to sell the 19-year-old, with the intent of  keeping hold of him for years to come.

But, the latest reports contradict that heavily, with the Rossoneri reportedly ready to part ways with Donnarumma. His agent, Mino Raiola is now ready to push for the teenage prodigy to join Real Madrid, with cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain also an option.

But, the Italy international won’t come cheap, with Milan slapping a €60 million on him. The figure shouldn’t pose a problem to Real Madrid though, and the player could well be on his way to the Bernabeu in the summer. It now remains to be seen if Donnarumma’s stint at AC Milan indeed comes to a quick end when the transfer window opens in July.
