Manchester City are reportedly set to propose a stunning swap deal involving Bernardo Silva to land Isco from Real Madrid in the summer.
According to a report by Spanish publication Don Balon, Manchester City are going all out in their bid to sign Isco in the summer transfer window. The Premier League champions-elect are ready to offer Bernardo Silva to Real Madrid as part of a swap deal to land the Spanish midfielder.
Isco’s stint with Real Madrid has been quite the roller coaster ride, with the Spaniard constantly battling to retain his status as one of the first-choice players in the first-team setup. The same has been prevalent this season as well, with the player starting the campaign as one of the first names on the teamsheet before falling down the pecking order in the ensuing months.
The 25-year-old has managed to start just 30 games in all competitions this season, the majority of these coming in the first half of the campaign. And in recent months, there have been murmurings over a move away from Real Madrid, with the player unhappy over his status at the club, and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing him.
At Etihad, Pep Guardiola has a riches of quality in midfield and attack. But, with David Silva on the wrong side of 30, Isco could be a like-for-like, long-term replacement for Manchester City. And, as per the report, a place could open up within the squad to enable the Real Madrid man to slot in quickly at the club.
Manchester City are set to propose a stunning swap deal involving Bernardo Silva, who only arrived at the club last summer. The Portuguese midfielder was signed after a scintillating 2016-17 campaign with AS Monaco, but he hasn’t managed to become a first-choice player at Etihad, although he has shown promising signs whenever called into action.
The move to Real Madrid though, might be ideal for Silva as well as Los Blancos. To begin with, the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo would help him settle quickly at the Bernabeu, and chances are he could quickly become a key player in attack, considering Gareth Bale’s future at the club is uncertain.
In Silva, Real Madrid could also have a player who would give them a cost effective way to bolster attack in the summer, potentially enabling them to divert funds to reinforce other areas of the squad. So, for all intents and purposes, this seems like a deal that could be viable not just for Manchester City and Isco, but also for the other two parties involved.
The swap deal could possible help both players secure regular game time, something that isn’t coming their way at their respective clubs at the present moment. It now remains to be seen if Manchester City and Real Madrid strike a deal to see Isco and Bernardo Silva swap places in the summer.
