Jack Wilshere could have an entirely new prospect at hand as Liverpool reportedly attempt to plot a summer move for the Arsenal superstar.

According to TalkSport, Jack Wilshere could be set to remain in the Premier League fighting for the best of trophies, just not at Arsenal. The report entails that Liverpool are plotting a summer move for Jack Wilshere, who will be out of contract at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Liverpool have been buoyed by the success of their capture of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The former Arsenal man has started off well at Anfield and with the player just 24, the player is set to be an addition for the long haul. Now, the Reds are shifting their focus towards another Arsenal player, with Jack Wilshere now on their radar.

Jack Wilshere’s streak of injury-stricken seasons was brought to an end in the 2016-17 campaign as he played a total of 29 Premier League matches while on loan to Bournemouth. The 2017-18 campaign saw the midfielder retain his place at Arsenal and he has been slowly eased into the setup.

His performances in the Europa League excited everyone and subsequently, he has managed to finally regain his status of a regular at Arsenal this season, with a total of 26 appearances to boot. But, there are still complications remaining regarding his future at the club.

Despite regular reports of Wilshere being on the cusp of signing a new deal, Arsenal are yet to table one, which has seen interest arrive from the likes of Juventus. But, we could be seeing another Arsenal player moving to Liverpool, with the Reds eyeing a move for the midfielder.

Liverpool have Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson, with Naby Keita set to arrive in the summer. Despite these options at his disposal, Jurgen Klopp is still looking to add to his midfield, especially with Can more than likely to join Juventus at the end of the season.

With Can set to go on a Bosman, bringing Jack Wilshere in on a similar predicament could be the perfect antidote. Wilshere already has vast experience of Premier League football and could really add to the already growing English core at Liverpool.

Wilshere could look at the improved game time that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has received while weighing up the move. Indeed, this move would preserve the hopes he might harbour of staying the Premier League while also being able to compete for all the same trophies and even more, with Liverpool in the Champions League and Arsenal, not.

Arsenal should, in all honesty, scamper to get Wilshere to commit to a new deal as possible. Arsenal fans absolutely love the player, who in turn, loves the club and it would be a very sad day for the Gooners if they see Jack Wilshere exit the club as well.
