Barcelona have reportedly placed a €10 million price tag on Aleix Vidal, who is being targeted by former club Sevilla for a move this month.
According to a report by Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona are strong in their resolve over Aleix Vidal’s valuation. The Spaniard, who is the subject of interest from Sevilla, will only be sold by Barcelona if a club agrees to pay €10 million in exchange for his services.
Aleix Vidal’s time at Barcelona has been nothing short of a disappointment. Bought by the Blaugrana after a successful one-year stint at Sevilla in 2015, the player was recruited with the belief that he would be the successor to Dani Alves, who had ended his long and illustrious spell at Camp Nou that summer.
But, after making his belated debut for Barcelona, who were then serving a FIFA-imposed transfer ban, Vidal has failed to nail down a regular starting spot, managing to rack up a mere 42 appearances. His struggles meant Sergi Roberto had to be deployed as a makeshift right-back before the Catalans signed Nelson Semedo last summer.
And it looks like Vidal’s Barcelona sojourn is about to come to an end, with the Blaugrana looking to offload him in this month’s transfer window. Former club Sevilla seem to be interested, but there are some complications in their pursuit of the player.

Sevilla want to sign Vidal on a short-term loan deal before buying him on a permanent deal for €8 million in the summer. But, Barcelona are maintaining a firm stance on their valuation of the player, not budging from the €10 million price tag that they have slapped on him to sell this month.
Having already offloaded the likes of Arda Turan, Rafinha and Javier Mascherano in the current window, Barcelona are in no hurry to sell any other player, especially on the cheap, this month, and will, thus, look to recoup the aforementioned figure.
As far as Sevilla are concerned, Vidal could be an important player in their bid to qualify for the Champions League once again, as he could be a fantastic solution, either as a right-back or in attack, having shown glimpses of his best this season.
For now, the La Liga club are the only one showing firm interest in Vidal, and although Inter Milan and AS Roma also seem to be eyeing him, it’s not clear if they are ready to make a serious offer yet. If they do, it remains to be seen if they are ready to pay €10 million for Vidal, or if Sevilla agree to.
Barcelona though, will not sway from their valuation of the player, as things stand, and it will be interesting to see if they are able to offload him this month.
