Manchester United are reportedly ready to rival Real Madrid in pursuit of Neymar, with both clubs preparing €500 million offers for the PSG attacker.

According to a report by French publication Le 10 Sport, Neymar is the subject of interest from Manchester United, who are ready to provide stiff competition to Real Madrid in his pursuit. The two European superpowers are ready to break the staggering €500 million barrier to land the PSG superstar.

Neymar is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, having taken his career to heights very few ever manage to scale. His four-year stint at Barcelona saw the player steadily hone his skills, before becoming an instrumental figure for both club and country.

Last summer, the Brazilian shocked the world when he called it quits at Barcelona before joining PSG in a world record €222 million deal. And at Parc des Princes, Neymar has gone on to progress further, so much so that he has Real Madrid and Manchester United chasing him.

So far this season, 25-year-old has a fantastic return of 20 goals and 14 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions, making him one of the most prolific performers in the current campaign. But, there have been reports that the player is unhappy with life in Paris, handing Real Madrid and Manchester United the impetus in his pursuit.

Real Madrid’s interest in Neymar doesn’t come as much of a surprise, with Los Blancos struggling incomprehensibly in front of goal. Cristiano Ronaldo has uncharacteristically looked out of sorts, while Karim Benzema is a pale shadow of his domineering self.

Gareth Bale’s injury woes have only piled on the misery for Zinedine Zidane, and with the BBC stack struggling to remain consistent, the goals have dried up for Real Madrid. Neymar is, thus, a viable target for the Spanish and European champions, who now have Manchester United for company in the race to sign the player.

The Premier League heavyweights’ interest in Neymar isn’t new, with the club attempting to sign him on previous occasions as well. What does come as a surprise though, is that Manchester United manager is already using Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the left side of attack, where Neymar primarily operates from.

But, the 25-year-old can play centrally as well, and with Henrikh Mkhitaryan expected to depart from Old Trafford soon, the player might be a solution as a secondary striker/central playmaker. The report suggests that Manchester United are preparing a colossal €500 million offer to lure him to England.

With the player reportedly unsettled at PSG, the staggering bid, coupled with a generous pay package might just be good enough for Manchester United to sign Neymar. Real Madrid, on the other hand, will need to pull their socks up to be able to stand a chance, with their reported offer being €400 million.

Meanwhile, PSG are unwilling to let the player depart easily, with aspirations of dominating European and domestic football for several years. It now remains to be seen if a move sees the light of the day, with Manchester United and Real Madrid preparing mammoth offers to sign Neymar.
