Chelsea are reportedly contemplating a move for Borussia Monchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard and bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge.
According to German publication Bild, Chelsea fans could see the Hazard family being completed at Stamford Bridge. Gladbach winger Thorgan Hazard, a former Blue himself, is on the radar of the defending Premier League champions, who are looking to add him back to the squad.
Thorgan Hazard has had to deal with the pressure of living up to the standards set by his brother Eden Hazard. And he found himself doing the same after earning a move to Chelsea. His struggles to earn game time in the first-team was evident and he ended up being shipped off to Bundesliga, with Gladbach swooping in for the Belgian.
Thorgan has set the stage alight in Germany this season, with 7 goals and 7 assists in 20 games in all competitions to date. The player has been in a good vein of form, which has been one of the driving factors in Gladbach’s re-emergence as they find themselves placed at sixth on the Bundesliga table – just 2 points away from second place.
There had been a few rumours linking Thorgan with a return to Chelsea earlier. But, the Blues do seem to be in need of injection of a fresh face or two in attack. The 24-year-old has already started to play in tandem with brother Eden in the senior setup for Belgium and could do the job at Chelsea as well.

Chelsea already have Eden Hazard and Kylian Hazard on their books. Thorgan’s return could see the entire Hazard footballing family come under one roof, a rare sight in football. This deal could also be a positive in their bid to retain Eden, with the player being linked to Real Madrid for a while now.
The Belgian though, does not have good memories from his time at Chelsea. The player failed to make his senior league debut for the club despite being on their books for 3 years, which could be a factor for Thorgan in case Chelsea do come in with a bid.
Gladbach, themselves too, would not want to part ways with their talisman in the middle of the season. But, if Thorgan does make up his mind, or his brothers and his previous club does manage to convince him, there could be little the Bundesliga side can do to prevent a transfer.
Thorgan does have two-and-a-half years left on his deal at Gladbach, which means the club can atleast hold out for a sizeable fee, in order to gain some premium on the transfer. This is a deal that could happen, with the move hinging mostly on Chelsea’s preference. But, a January transfer looks highly improbable.
