Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Marouane Fellaini, who is set to leave Manchester United as a free agent next summer.
According to Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure, Marouane Fellaini is the subject of interest from PSG, who are plotting a Bosman move to sign him next summer. The Belgian midfielder looks set to run out his current deal at Manchester United, having already rejected one renewal offer from the club.
Fellaini has had a topsy turvy spell at Manchester United, although he has come a long way since the turbulent first campaign at Old Trafford under David Moyes. The player has truly come into his own under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, who holds the Belgian midfielder in high regard.
Over the last 18 months, Fellaini has made 59 appearances for Manchester United, and a return of eight goals and three assists is quite decent, considering he has played in a multitude of positions. But, after becoming an integral figure at Old Trafford, his Manchester United stint looks likely to be coming to an end.
Fellaini’s current deal has just six months left, and the player has already rejected one renewal offer from the Red Devils. Manchester United are planning to put another new contract on the table for him, but he reportedly plans to snub the offer and seek pastures anew, having already hinted that he is unlikely to continue in the Premier League beyond this season.
Marouane Fellaini in HUMO: “Man United made me a contract proposal and I think they will make an another one. I don’t know yet if I’ll accept it – we will see. I have talked about it with Mourinho. He respects his players’ decisions.” #mufc pic.twitter.com/qz3qc0n0oj

The 30-year-old has, in fact, already begun searching for his next club, with offers from the Chinese Super League as well as Besiktas. But now, one of the powerhouses of European football has entered the race to sign Fellaini, with PSG interested in signing him without paying a single cent.
Les Parisiens will have to go easy on their budget next summer, with a big-money payment set to be made for the permanent transfer for Kylian Mbappe – the second such remuneration in consecutive summer windows for PSG after they signed Neymar before the start of the season.
So, with the objective of avoiding Financial Fair Play sanctions, Fellaini has emerged as a viable target, who will not only bolster their squad but will also do so for free. As far as the player is concerned, the move to Parc des Princes will help him continue challenging for major honours in Europe while possibly playing regularly.
Thiago Motta is reportedly set to hang up his boots at the end of the season while either of Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler are likely to be moved on by PSG to compensate for the aforementioned big-money moves.
Meanwhile, Manchester United look destined to lose Fellaini without recouping anything for him, and as per widespread reports, they seem to have already started seeking appropriate replacement options. As far as Fellaini is concerned, it remains to be seen if a shock move to PSG sees the light of the day.
