Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on Hirving Lozano, and are weighing up a €48 million bid to sign the PSV Eindhoven attacker
According to a report by Mexican outlet Super Deportivo, Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Hirving Lozano, who has been flying in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven. The Gunners are considering a €48 million bid to sign the Mexican winger, with Everton pondering a move as well.
Lozano has long been regarded as one of the most promising young players in Mexico as progressed through the ranks at CF Pachuca before eventually establishing himself as a regular for both club and country. With a lot of excitement surrounding his talent, several clubs were linked with him in the summer.
But, the player preferred moving to PSV instead of a more prominent name in Europe, and the move seems to have paid off. The Mexico international has quickly become a key player for the Dutch giants, making 18 appearances across all competitions, boasting an impressive return of 11 goals and 6 assists.
And so, not long into his stint at Philips Stadion, Lozano is already being linked with a move to a top club in Europe. Arsenal are one suitors that have been following his progress for a long time, and are now ready to launch the offensive in his pursuit.

The Gunners are preparing for life after Alexis Sanchez, with the Chilean set to call it quits at the Emirates either in January or next summer. Sanchez had nearly departed from the North London club in the summer before a deadline day move to Manchester City failed to materialise.
Anything similar is not expected to happen if he stays till the end of the season, with Sanchez no closer to extending a contract that will run out in six months time. Lozano is, thus, a viable target for Arsenal, an almost like for like replacement for the Chilean attacker.
But, Everton are in the race to sign the player too, with Sam Allardyce aiming to bolster his squad. A move for Lozano does make sense, with the Merseyside club lacking too many natural wingers apart from Aaron Lennon and an injured Yannick Bolasie.
The report suggests that separate negotiations between PSV and Everton/Arsenal are at an advanced stage, with the Dutch club asking for €48 million in exchange for his services. Neither club is bothered by the price tag either, although it is still unclear if the move will take place in January or next summer.
It now remains to be seen if either club manages to secure the services of Lozano, whenever it happens, or if he continues representing PSV.
