Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that David Luiz is to be assessed by the doctors and is set to miss the home match against Swansea on Wednesday.

Chelsea managed to battle their way to a draw against Liverpool and Antonio Conte will be looking towards his side to provide a suitable reaction to what was a flattish display earlier over the weekend. The Blues though, will be without David Luiz, who is out for an indefinite period of time, which will be estimated only once the assessment is done.

Antonio Conte confirmed in his pre-match conference that the Brazilian has a new issue and is set to miss the match. Alongside the defender, the likes of Charly Musonda, Michy Batshuayi and Kenedy are doubts for the game as well.

“I can tell you who isn’t available, it’s David Luiz with a new problem, Musonda, then Batshuayi and Kenedy are trying to come back to 100 per cent. In this moment it’s very difficult to answer this question. The doctor will assess the situation very well and then take the best decision for the player, I don’t know.”

There is one positive update though, with the manager iterating that Victor Moses is in contention to feature after having recovered from his injury. Conte did not reveal whether he will pick the player in his starting eleven, only hinting at his ability to feature on Wednesday.

“Victor Moses is in contention for tomorrow’s game but I have to make the best decision for the team and every player. For sure Victor is back from a bad injury and he needs a bit of time to find the best physical condition, he is an important player.”

Conte was also asked to highlight his tactics surrounding the selection policy as far as summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is concerned. The Blues manager iterated that Bakayoko, at 23, is still a young player and needs to develop tactically to suit his system better.

The manager though, put his faith behind the summer arrival, stating that while he does need to improve in certain areas, he is content with the player’s work-rate and commitment towards the club.
