Charly Musonda Jr. is finally set to be handed a start for Chelsea as Antonio Conte rings in the rotation for their Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea were not upto their usual expected level as the Blues were held to a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge against local rivals Arsenal on Sunday. Antonio Conte will now look for a response from his side, which is expected to be heavily rotated, according to the reports.
Charly Musonda Jr. seems to be one of the beneficiaries of the same. The youngster is set to finally start a game in a Chelsea shirt and will be looking to grab this opportunity with both hands. Antonio Conte talked up the Belgian ahead of the match, in his pre-match conference.
“You can see Charly’s talent very clearly. I am sure we are talking about a young player with really good prospects. Now it is important he is working very well and trying to adapt himself to this league, which is not simple. It’s a physical league.”
“He is a bit thin but now he is working a lot to improve his strength and be prepared for the big impacts in this league. I trust Charly. It’s important for the coach to trust a young player, but also important to have a good answer when the chance to play arrives.”

The manager also gave updates on Pedro’s injury, stating that he is unlikely to feature on Wednesday after being brought off at half-time against Arsenal. The Italian, though, iterated that the Wednesday fixture could finally see Eden Hazard start, hinting at the Belgian being named in the starting lineup for the Carabao Cup fixture.
“Now is the right moment for Eden to start the game and try to play the whole game. I hope for him it is the final step from his injury. We have managed his situation very well. In my career I was injured a lot of times, and I have a bit of experience about this. Now he is ready to start the game.”
Chelsea do not have any other updates on players, with Danny Drinkwater still out on the sidelines. There are a lot of other youngsters like Kyle Scott, Jake Clarke-Selter, Kenedy and others who could get a look in as well, something that is sure to bring a lot of cheer to the Chelsea faithfuls.
