Thomas Muller could reportedly be on his way to the Premier League in January with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool believed to be interested in him.

According to a report by Bild, Premier League heavy-weights Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in a January move to land Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich. Manchester United were keen on landing the player previously, but now he is being targeted by some of their rivals.

The German superstar is undoubtedly one of the best attacking players in the footballing world, which only goes to explain the interest from the English clubs, which is not new by any means. However, Muller did struggle to do his best last term, and has reportedly grown frustrated at the club.

Although Bayern strengthened their dominion by winning the Bundesliga title for the fifth consecutive time, Muller did not enjoy the best run of form. The 27-year-old managed to find the back of the net on just four occasions in 26 appearances across competitions, and just once in the league.

Additionally, Muller has not been used in a starring role under Carlo Ancelotti and with the World Cup next year, he could be in search of greener pastures to clock regular playing time. The attacker still has four years left on his contract but as the situation stands, he could seek a move to the Premier League.

At Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is under incredible pressure to deliver results. They did not start the new season on a good note, making it all the more important for the manager to sign quality players to bolster their blunt attack. The Gunners painted a sorry picture when they lost to Liverpool, and that can be attributed, in part, to their shoddy front line.

With all the drama surrounding Alexis Sanchez and his future, it is quite evident that the Chilean superstar is not happy at the Emirates. A January move does seem on the cards, which will open up space for Muller. New signing Alexandre Lacazette has been performing well so far but they need further reinforcements.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are in need to find a player who can replace out-of-favour star Diego Costa. The nasty war between Costa and Antonio Conte only seems to be intensifying, and Muller can be a potential direct replacement up front. Muller’s versatility can also help Conte when it comes to experimenting a bit.

Granted, they did sign Alvaro Morata this summer but with grueling Premier League and Champions League commitments, Conte will be looking to add more depth to his attack since he does not have too many options right now, which can prove to be cumbersome in the future.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s attack has been one of the best in the Premier League this season. The combined skills of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have given Jurgen Klopp a delightful start. While it might seem odd for the Liverpool boss to sign Muller, the fact is that Salah is not versatile like the German.

The 27-year-old can play as a midfielder or a forward, and has been often deployed in a variety of attacking roles, making him a sturdy all-round package. However, signing for Liverpool could see him receiving limited playing time, so that is something Muller will have to consider. It, thus, remains to be seen where his future lies, should he leave Bayern.
