Juventus are reportedly set to fork out €20 million to complete the signing of Danilo from Real Madrid this summer.
Spanish publication AS have reported that Juventus are closing in on the services of Danilo from Real Madrid. The Italian champions are set to shell out €20 million to complete the summer deal for the Brazilian right-back.
Danilo joined Real Madrid from Porto in the summer of 2015 with a lot of hype surrounding him, having been hailed as one of the most promising defenders to emerge out of Brazil. However, two years after first moving to the Santiago Bernabeu, the player has failed to justify the €31.5 million price tag that Los Blancos bought him for.
Struggling to make any sort of major impact for his side, the Brazilian right-back has largely played as the understudy to Dani Carvajal on the right side of the Real Madrid defence. As a result, he has started a mere 40 games across all competitions in the last two seasons.

As Carvajal continues to go from strength to strength at the Bernabeu, Danilo seems to have little chance at usurping the Spain international to establish himself as Zinedine Zidane’s first-choice right-back.
And with just a year to go before the next World Cup, he is eager to secure regular game time in order to stake a claim for a place in Brazil’s squad for the tournament.
Thus, a move away from Real Madrid beckons this summer for Danilo, with Juventus the clear front-runners in his pursuit. Dani Alves ended his association with the Italian champions after just one season by mutual consent, with a move to the Premier League on the cards for the former Barcelona defender.
With Alves gone, Massimiliano Allegri has Stephan Lichtsteiner as his only recognised option at right-back. The veteran Swiss defender, however, is expected to continue his role as a squad player in the forthcoming season as well, thus prompting the Juventus boss to turn his attention to Danilo.
And the Bianconeri have inched a step closer to securing the services of the 25-year-old, with the report suggesting that they have struck a €20 million deal with Real Madrid. Thus, Danilo is now set to replace his senior compatriot at the Allianz Stadium having once famously been hailed as the “next Dani Alves”.
It now remains to be seen if the player can manage to bring his career back on the right track at Juventus and possibly also claim a place in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup in Russia next year.
