Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a shock summer move to land former Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez, who is reportedly close to signing for Everton.

According to Spanish publication Marca, Real Madrid are looking at a former Barcelona striker to beef up their attacking line. Sandro Ramirez, who is being tailed heavily by several clubs and is reportedly close to signing for Premier League club Everton, has emerged as a shock summer target for Los Blancos.

Sandro Ramirez has managed to carve out a name for himself in Spain after leaving Barcelona for Malaga last summer. And, in his debut season for the club, the Spanish Under-21 international managed to produce a tally of 14 goals and 5 assists in 30 La Liga matches – a healthy amount for a debut campaign.

His displays have been widely appreciated and the interest in his services has continued to rise. However, Malaga do not stand to benefit much from a transfer at this point, given the fact that the player has a buyout clause of just €6 million – a steal in terms of the currently inflated transfer market.

Real Madrid could be bidding farewell to either or both of Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. Morata seems the one more likely to leave the club at the present moment, with reports of a personal agreement in place between the player and Manchester United.

Mbappe is a priority target for Real Madrid and it looks like they will get their man. However, if the Frenchman decides to stay at Monaco, Florentino Perez will have to look elsewhere to add depth to the strikeforce. And even if Mbappe ends up joining, if another attacker ends up leaving, along with Morata, Ramirez could still be a viable option.

The prospect of getting a 21-year-old fledgling striker for as cheap as €6 million is non-existent in the current market and could be one Zidane & co. are willing to exploit. Indeed, under Zidane, every player of the first-team squad has been afforded minutes and his rotational policy would ensure the same is given to Ramirez as well.

Ramirez has been impressive in the ongoing European Under-21 Championship and Real Madrid have a rich history of recruiting the standout players of the competition – Royston Drenthe, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Asier Illarramendi.

The 21-year-old, though, seems to be close to a move to Everton with an announcement expected upon the end of the Under-21 Euros. Real Madrid will have to act fast if they are to beat the Toffees to the signature and it would be interesting to see if their interest in the former Barcelona star is real.
