Manchester United have reportedly agreed terms with Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca, who is currently on loan at Turkish club Besiktas.

According to a report by AMK, Anderson Talisca is close to sealing a summer transfer to Manchester United after spending last season on loan at Besiktas. The midfielder agreed for a two-year loan spell with the Turkish club but now reports suggest that he could be on his way to Old Trafford this summer.

The Brazilian forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now after impressing for Benfica and continuing the same form on loan at Besiktas, where he managed to score 17 goals in 33 games, helping the Turkish outfit to the league title.

Although he is due to spend a second term in Istanbul as part of the loan agreement, United are understood to be keen to swoop in to seal a permanent deal with the promising 23-year-old.

Besiktas have a £20 million clause written into their loan deal with Benfica but they have not triggered it so far, and it doesn’t look like they will do it this summer.

The talented Brazilian can play in midfield and upfront, proving to be extremely versatile which is what Jose Mourinho needs at this point. United have also been linked with a high-profile move to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but the Benfica midfielder will prove to be a lot less expensive when compared to Morata.

Additionally, since he is young, Jose Mourinho can work better on moulding him further.

The fact that he is so versatile could either mean Mourinho rotates between him and Juan Mata or he could be looking at Taliscato gradually replace Mata.

Unlike Mata, Talisca has proven to be pretty consistent at Benfica and Besiktas. He is a good finisher and is accurate when it comes to scoring while also having a good shot in him. He also seems very generous in setting up for his teammates which can only mean good news for Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

His physical strength is also a good attribute which can make him a good fit for United’s frontline. Under Mourinho’s watchful eye, Talisca can become a better player in the upcoming years.

However, Juan Mata’s position is likely to be at stake if the deal does go through, unless the former Chelsea star chooses to move out of the club this summer. In order to prove himself, he will have to work towards becoming more consistent and compete to start more often next season.

Manchester United have already invested in Victor Lindelof from Benfica and are now looking to sign another Benfica player to add to their midfield.
