Premier League Champions Chelsea are set to offer Eden Hazard a huge hike in his wages in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

According to a report by Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, the Blues have told the 26-year-old that he will not be allowed to leave the SW6 in the summer and will not be sold to Real Madrid, who are reportedly willing to break the bank and table an offer in the region of £100 million for him.

In order to fend off any interest from potential suitors in the summer, Chelsea are reportedly set to offer him a huge hike in his wages. The Belgian is currently said to be pocketing around £200,000 in weekly wages and the Blues are willing to raise it to a massive £300,000-a-week.

Hazard, who helped Chelsea clinch their second Premier League title in the last three seasons, has reportedly been told by the club in a meeting held last week that he could be their most important players for years to come and could essentially have the team built around him, going forward.

Hazard has scored 15 goals and registered 5 assists in 35 Premier League appearances so far, helping Chelsea cruise to their 6 English League title with 2 games to spare. He could also win his first FA Cup trophy on the 27th, should they overcome Arsenal at Wembley in the final.

Real Madrid have constantly been linked with a move for the Belgian, but last month it was reported that they were set to call off their chase for Hazard, as they wished to put more faith and give youngster Marco Asensio a chance to fulfill his potential and build on an impressive season.

The young Spaniard has shown for the Galacticos this campaign. He is currently enjoying a breakthrough season in which he has scored 9 goals and registered 4 assists in 37 appearances across the season and has given tough competition for Isco, James and Kovacic for places in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is widely expected to bankroll a massive summer spending spree for Antonio Conte as the Blues return to the UEFA Champions League after a season away, another factor in Chelsea’s advantage as they try to convince Hazard to stay on in London.

Hazard, who will add his fourth major Chelsea honour after they are officially crowned Champions At Stamford Bridge on Sunday, has arguably been their most important player this season and he will be crucial to their chances of challenging for top honours on a regular basis.

However, he will be even more pivotal in re-establishing Chelsea as force to be reckoned with in Europe. Should Chelsea manage to convince the Belgian to stay at the club for the long term, it may very well prove to be their best signing of the summer.
