Transfer Rumour: Chelsea striker Diego Costa signs pre-contract agreement with Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quianjian

Chelsea’s Diego Costa has signed a pre-contract agreement with Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quianjian.

According to Cadena Ser, Chelsea’s wantaway talisman Diego Costa has signed a pre-contract agreement with Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quianjian in a deal that will see the Spain striker earn €90 million over the next three years.

Costa has been on the cusp of an exit from Stamford Bridge, and has not held back while talking about his struggles living in London. While he enjoys playing for the club, the city is not treating him too well, and it is a major reason for him wanting to move away from the club.

Costa was in sublime form at the start of the season, which has withered away as the campaign progressed. He still has an impressive 19 league goals to his name this term, and will undoubtedly be a vital signing for Tianjin Quianjian.

It is understood that Costa will earn a staggering €30 million per year at the Chinese club. He will also be joined by former Blues striker Alexandre Pato and Axel Witsel, and work under the tutelage of Fabio Cannavaro.

The move appeared to be in place for a long time as the player’s agent Jorge Mendes was in China, reportedly talking about a potential move in the summer. The London club too, were well aware about the interest shown, and were bracing themselves for a bid from China.

This could see Chelsea manager Antonio Conte enter the market for a renowned world-class striker, who will stay at the club for a long time, and help the Blues challenge for domestic as well as European glory.

While Chelsea already have one hand on the Premier League title this campaign, it will be a whole different ask for them to retain it next season, as their title rivals will all be busy in the summer, roping in talents from all around the world to help their cause.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has made his intentions clear that he wants to leave the club in order to play in the Champions League. He dreams of making a return to Chelsea, and it may well happen, given that Costa is all but set to pack his bags and move to China.

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, too, has been tipped to make a summer move to Stamford Bridge. After joining them on a permanent basis, the Spaniard has failed to nail down his place in the starting eleven, and could move to Chelsea, should an offer come his way.
