AC Milan have reportedly set their sights on Lucas Perez and are the Serie A club are considering a summer move for the Arsenal striker

Italian publication Il Messaggero have reported that AC Milan are monitoring the situation of Lucas Perez at the Emirates Stadium. The Rossoneri are preparing to put on the table for the Arsenal striker when the summer transfer window opens in June, and Perez wants the move too.

Speaking to Calciomercato, Perez’s agent, Fernandez Llovelle claimed that the player is not happy at Arsenal and is eager to move away at “any cost”. “Lucas wants to leave at any cost. He’s not happy at Arsenal, he’s not settled in and he hasn’t had the chance to play and to prove himself,” Llovelle confirmed.

“He’s not received any offers yet. If Lucas leaves London, which he will, since he’s not had any chances under Arsene Wenger, he will want to go play for another important club, one as important as Arsenal. Milan is a great team and he likes them a lot, even though we’ve never spoken with the Rossoneri’s directors.”

It has not even been six months since Lucas Perez secured a move to Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in a £17.1 million deal and it’s already looking as if he could be on his way out of North London this coming summer.

Signed as a last resort after reported moves for Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette were scuppered, Perez came as more of an unknown quantity at Arsenal. However, after 17 appearances for the Gunners, Perez has found the back of the net six times while providing five assists at an impressive rate for 131 minutes per goal.

But Perez has failed to lock down a regular place for himself in the first team at Arsenal, as injuries coupled with Arsene Wenger preferring Alexis Sanchez as the spearhead of his side’s attack, meaning that the Spaniard has started just eight games so far.

With Perez aiming to get into the Spain squad for next year’s FIFA World Cup, Perez feels that his chances will be getting diminished if he doesn’t play regularly. With that in mind, the 28-year-old is ready to move on from his frustrations at Arsenal in the summer, according to reports.

The report from Il Messaggero states that AC Milan are ready to swoop in with an offer for Perez, with the addition of a striker being one of their top priorities for the summer. The Rossoneri are in the midst of being taken over by a Chinese group that wants the club to scale the heights of their glory days.

Reinforcements are being eyed in several departments, attack being one of them with Carlos Bacca sure to depart from San Siro in the summer. Perez has now been identified as a top target, and an offer close to what Arsenal paid to Deportivo this past summer should be enough to secure his services.

The Spaniard could be a top addition for Milan, with his versatility, powerful shot and the ability to get in behind the defenders. It now remains to be seen if he indeed moves away from Arsenal in the summer and if Milan are able to get their hands on him.
