Liverpool are looking to bring AFC Ajax superstar Hakim Ziyech to Anfield as a potential replacement for Coutinho, who has been heavily courted by Barcelona.

Dutch publication Bladna have claimed that Liverpool are among several Premier League clubs interested in AFC Ajax superstar Hakim Ziyech. The report states that Klopp sees the forward as an apt replacement for Coutinho, who could be on his way out of the club, with heavy interest from Barcelona.

Hakim Ziyech is a Heerenveen youth product who came into recognition after making the move to fellow Eredivisie club FC Twente, where he recorded an outrageous 34 goals and 30 assists in 76 games. The 23-year-old then made a deadline day move to another Dutch club in AFC Ajax for a fee around the €10 million mark.

And Ziyech has hit the ground running at Amsterdam as well, with 9 goals and 8 assists in 22 games. The Morocco international was already courted by many European clubs in the summer transfer window as well, when he chose to join Ajax.

And now Liverpool have reignited their interest in the Moroccan, with Klopp having one eye on the future of Coutinho, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona in the near future.

The boss is scouring for potential replacements for the Brazilian in case he does desire to leave. And Ziyech’s name has cropped up on the list. As per the report, Liverpool have sent representatives to Amsterdam to examine the possibility of a deal to bring Ziyech to Anfield in the summer.

The player is highly renowned in Africa as well, with the 23-year-old recently announced the African player of the Year.

Liverpool could be looking to get a deal done quickly as the availability of a talent as exciting as Ziyech is bound to attract other suitors. The 23-year-old has been linked to the likes of Arsenal, Fenerbahce and many others.

Arsenal, with doubts over the future of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, could very well renew interest in the exciting winger, which may prove to be a stumbling block in Liverpool’s pursuit of Ziyech.
