Juventus unfazed by Real Madrid interest in Paulo Dybala; Martin Odegaard departs for Heerenveen loan

Juventus are not fazed by Real Madrid’s interest in Paulo Dybala and are confident that the Argentine will stay in Turin, according to Giuseppe Marotta

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is adamant that star forward Paulo Dybala will stay at the club despite several reports linking the Argentine with a move to Real Madrid. He also added that the club has approached Dybala’s representatives to increase his wages a few months ago.

Speaking to Mediaset Premium, Marotta said he hasn’t been contacted by either Real Madrid or Barcelona over a move for Dybala. He said: “No calls [from Real Madrid and Barcelona].

“I want to point out that we have a multi-year contract with Dybala and approached his entourage a few months ago to improve his wages, which is only fair. Our rapport is good. There are no fears he could leave.”

Dybala has been one of the most highly regarded players in world football ever since his three year spell at Palermo, where the diminutive forward scored 21 goals in 90 appearances, before earning a move to Serie A giants Juventus in 2015.

The move to Juve has seen his stock rise by leaps and bounds, as Dybala has become a key figure for Massimiliano Allegri’s side while improving his scoring rate at the same time, netting 22 goals in 44 outings for the Italian champions.

This season, Dybala has been in impressive form for his side yet again, and with a goal in Juventus’ 3-0 win over Bologna on Sunday he took his tally to four goals in 11 Serie A games.

All this has seen him being linked to the giants of European football, with the latest reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid, with Los Blancos looking to offer an outrageous £77 million plus Alvaro Morata to secure the services of Dybala.

However, it looks like Juventus have no intentions of letting go of their star man any time soon.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard is on the move, as Eredivisie club Heerenveen have secured a loan move for the youngster, with the Norwegian looking to get minutes of first team football action under his belt.

The Dutch club announced Odegaard’s signing on Twitter, and the 18-year-old was officially presented on Tuesday.

Odegaard has struggled to break into the Real Madrid first team since sealing a dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2015, and has instead been playing for the club’s Castilla team since last season.

Thus far, he has made just one competitive start for Zinedine Zidane side, as he played the full ninety minutes in the 6-1 rout of Cultural Leonesa in November, and the lack of first team opportunities saw him being linked with loan moves to Rennes and Heerenveen in recent weeks.

Heerenveen currently sit fourth in the Eredivisie table with 29 points from 19 games, and reports in the Netherlands claim that Odegaard’s move to the club will be till the end of the season.
