Chelsea manager Antonio Conte leaves door open for Cesc Fabregas January exit

Chelsea are currently sitting pretty at the top of the table, but it seems like one of their star players should brace himself for a possible winter exit from the club

Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas tasted success in his very first season at Stamford Bridge. Fabregas lifted the Premier League title for the first time after the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho, but things have gone sour for him since.

The Spaniard has made just two starts in the Premier League this season. Despite starring in their important win against Manchester City recently, rumours continue to fly about Fabregas being sold off in the winter.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was asked about whether Fabregas would stay in the pre-match press conference ahead of their game against Sunderland. His answer will further fuel the rumors that Fabregas’ time at Stamford Bridge is ticking to an end.

“In football, in my experience, it’s very difficult to guarantee always something,” said Conte, according to Goal.

“So this is difficult. But Cesc is an important player for us. He played a key match against Manchester City, and played very well. In the last match he came on very well during the game.
