Chelsea will be without the services of Willian but welcome the return of captain John Terry as Antonio Conte prepares to host Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City.
Chelsea host Leicester City in a crunch tie with both the sides in dire need of momentum mid-way through the campaign. Antonio Conte will be delighted with the return of captain John Terry, who is available for selection after being sidelined due to a recurring ankle injury. Marco Van Ginkel is the only long-term injury on the list while Kurt Zouma is still unfit to return to action.
Willian is unavailable for Chelsea as the winger is still in Brazil due to the recent demise of his mother. Leicester City, on the other hand, have Nampalys Mendy sidelined with an injury. Apart from the summer recruit Ranieri has the entire squad available at his disposal.
Ranieri would be hoping superstar duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez hit their stride after a string of uncharacteristically below-par performances. One positive for Ranieri would be the form of Islam Slimani, who appears to have taken to Premier League football like fish to water.
Chelsea, on the other hand, would be hoping Eden Hazard shows up on the night owing to his inconsistency this season. Conte would be happy with Diego Costa’s form though and would be looking up to the Spaniard to replicate his form on Saturday.
The spotlight, though, will be on N’Golo Kante who made the move from defending champions Leicester City to Chelsea in the summer and will be up against the Foxes for the first time since that move. The French international though hasn’t hit the same kind of form that made him such a revelation last season during Leicester’s fairytale Premier League title triumph.
