Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to launch an attempt to secure the transfer of Brazilian playmaker Coutinho from Liverpool in January
Philippe Coutinho is a name that has grown to be synonymous with the club Liverpool. A player that arrived at Liverpool as an explosive little Brazilian with lots of potential. A youngster with talent who had failed to live up to his potential at Inter Milan and came to Liverpool with the Reds fans hopeful and anxious but wary at the same time.
However, the little magician has now established himself as one of the most exciting players in not only the Premier League but the whole of Europe. Coutinho was linked with an exit from Liverpool this season with many top clubs circling the player for a transfer.
Besides being linked with Atletico Madrid, PSG were linked to a £23m bid for the Brazilian attacker, which was swiftly rejected by Liverpool. The 24-year-old has started this season in fine form with a great return of 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 Premier League matches.
And now, according to French publication Le 10 Sport in a report by Squawka, Paris Saint-Germain are being linked with another bid for the Brazilian in January. It is rumoured that The French champions are preparing a €60m bid for the 24-year-old come January.
Paris Saint-Germain have started the season slowly and new manager Unai Emery is likely to welcome the addition of the exciting Brazilian international. with the hierarchy more than happy to oblige to the manager’s needs. Liverpool, on the other hand, seem to be riding on some momentum with Klopp seemingly working his magic at Anfield.
Coutinho is a crucial part of the quartet of attackers which include Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who have been highly influential in the Reds’ victories this season.
Coutinho had just signed a new contract back in 2015 with his new deal set to expire not before 2020, but Liverpool fear Paris Saint-Germain’s interest and reluctance to back off, may end in the exit of the Brazilian, something which Klopp cannot afford with the German aiming to mount a title challenge this season.
There isn’t long to go before the January transfer window opens and Liverpool would hope the Brazilian chooses the Reds over the Blue of Paris Saint-Germain.
