Real Madrid’s young sensation Martin Odegaard hailed Manchester United academy product Marcus Rashford as an incredible player.

Marcus Rashford has been earning plaudits since breaking into the first-team at Manchester United.

The player was named in the starting lineup by U-21 manager Gareth Southgate and Rashford made fans, pundits and maybe even Sam Allardyce realise that he may just be too good to be played at that level as he absolutely ran the Norwegian defence awry, netting a hat-trick in the process. While Rashford was on the favourable side of the 6-1 scoreline, Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard had to endure a tough night, mostly due to the United ace’s rampage. Odegaard has seen his stardom drop after joining Real Madrid and his lack of games have seen him make the demotion from Norway’s senior squad to the U–21 level, same as Rashford.

But it is the England international’s career that is going in the right direction and Odegaard admitted in an exclusive intervew to The Sun after the match that he was blown away by his fellow international’s performance on Tuesday night.

Odegaard said, “He is an incredible player as we saw and we have seen that in the Premier League too. So I think he is just an incredible player.”

The Norwegian teen sensation had to face the crunching defeat in his first game on English soil thanks to Rashford’s hat-trick and was asked by The Sun if he envisioned himself playing alongside Rashford in the near future, whether the club be Real Madrid or Manchester United or another one altogether.

Odegaard hinted at the possibility by simply smiling and saying ‘Maybe, maybe’, a proposition which could be absolutely lethal in the years to come.

For now, though, Odegaard must try and get his club and international career back on track while Rashford seems set to rule the United and English hearts for years to come.
