Cillessen has made 30 appearances for the Netherlands national team and has made 141 appearances for Ajax in six seasons in the Eriedivisie club. The 27-year-old will be competing with German keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen for the first choice role at the Camp Nou.
Bravo to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City
The signing of Cillesen has paved the way for Barcelona’s current number 1 Claudio Bravo to join Barcelona legend Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The Catalan manager was keen to sign a new goalkeeper, after freezing out Joe Hart from the first team because of the English keeper’s perceived shortcomings.
33-year-old Bravo has officially joined Manchester City from the Catalan giants. The signing of Cillessen further hastened the Chilean goalkeeper’s exit from Camp Nou.
