Chelsea are preparing to shell out £65 million along with outcast Loic Remy in order to sign Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.
Antonio Conte is set to bring about a revolution at Stamford Bridge. After signing N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi, the Italian manager is readying a bid to rope in another big name at Chelsea this summer. If recent reports are to be believed, Conte is ready to break the bank to bring back striker Romelu Lukaku to the club.
According to Sam Wallace of the Telegraph, Chelsea are preparing a staggering £65 million bid for Lukaku and are also willing to throw in Loic Remy to sugarcoat the deal. If all goes as planned, it would break the British transfer record.

Lukaku’s form has been excellent ever since his move to Everton. Even before joining the Toffees, the Belgian impressed a number of fans during his time at West Bromwich Albion. He would bring that added physical presence in the Blues lineup, and his incredible pace and immaculate finishing ability would be very useful for the London side.
Chelsea’s new signing Michy Batshuayi is a similar brand of player, and the Belgian duo could work together to wreak havoc on opposition defences with their numerous abilities. Also, with the uncertainty looming over Diego Costa’s club future, signing Lukaku will make a whole lot of sense for Antonio Conte.
Is Lukaku really worth £65 million?
With all due respect to the Belgian, there are only a handful players in the world, let alone England, that can be valued at or more than £65 million, and unfortunately Lukaku is not part of that elite group. He is a good striker and can frighten defences on his day, but does have the tendency to go missing in big games. There have also been a number of barren runs throughout the Belgian’s career where the player has struggled to get his act together.
Even in the recently concluded Euros, Lukaku had a number of creative players in Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Axel Witsel around him, but struggled to provide the answers in all but one of Belgium’s five games in the competition.
