Former England striker believes that Chelsea would benefit a great deal by signing French midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Ever since his break-through Premier League campaign with Leicester City, N’Golo Kante has been doing the rounds in the media for his tireless displays and on-field leadership. Leicester are undoubtedly not as big a club as Chelsea, and that has seen them lose out on a prized product in the French midfielder. The Blues have signed the 25-year old for a fee of around £30 million, ensuring a significant profit on his sale.

Former England and Leicester City player, Gary Lineker, spoke about Kante’s departure from the King Power, saying that he would undoubtedly bolster a rather dysfunctional Chelsea midfield. The BT pundit stated:

“Wish Kanté well and thank him dearly. He’s the main reason Leicester won the title and will make a massive difference to Chelsea’s chances.”

According to Chelsea’s official website, club director Michael Emmenalo said:

“N’Golo is a fantastic signing ahead of the new season and we are delighted to have been able to bring such a talented player to the club.

“He is a perfect fit in terms of Antonio Conte’s philosophies and the style of football he wants to play.

“For a player of his age he has already built up a wealth of experience and his exceptional quality will without doubt be a great addition to the team,” he added.

The player too, expressed his happiness about joining one of the biggest clubs in the continent. The 25-year-old stated:

“I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me.

“The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.

“My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and helping the club achieve a lot of success.”
