Chelsea have reportedly seen a £25.7 million bid rejected for Santos starlet Gabigol, according to UOL.
Chelsea have been interested in adding a striker to the squad with rumors linking them to many star forwards in the recent past. Goal now reports that according to UOL, the Blues have had a £25.7 million bid rejected by Brazilian club Santos for their young starlet Gabigol.
The report states that the Brazilian forward had the option to join Chelsea and move to England. But the forward has instead chosen to remain in Brazil and is seemingly more interested in signing a new contract with Santos that will run till 2021.
The report also says that the prodigious 19-year old is being chased by Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund but the forward is holding out for a dream move to Real Madrid to be a part of the Galacticos.
It was earlier reported that Arsenal were in with an offer for Gabigol, as Arsene Wenger looks to sign a forward this summer. ESPN Brazil had solidified Arsenal’s link by reporting that Gabigol had told his representatives he wishes to play for an elite European club like Arsenal. The report had also stated that Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Fiorentina have registered their interest in the new Brazilian sensation.
Gabigol has already rejected a humongous offer by Chinese Super League club Hebei. The Brazilian forward has already set a precedent of not going for big money offers or be convinced by the opportunity of living in a city like London. The 19-year old seems happy to stay at Brazil and continue his growth.
The forward is mentally prepared to wait for the right offer before he takes the next step in his career with a move to a big European club.
