Zlatan to Manchester United: Medical scheduled for Swedish superstar after Euro 2016

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is believed to have agreed terms for a move that will see him play for Manchester United next season, is set to undergo a medical with the club after Euro 2016.

The Swedish sensation has been a free agent following his departure from PSG and has since been linked with a number of top clubs. However, soon after Manchester United announced the signing of Jose Mourinho as their new manager, Zlatan Ibrahimovic appeared to be set for a reunion with the Portuguese at Old Trafford.

According to a report by Sky Sports, the 34-year-old is set to have a medical in Manchester after Sweden completes its Euro 2016 campaign. Ibrahimovic and agent Mino Raiola are believed to have agreed terms with Ed Woodward and Manchester United on a one-year deal.

The deal, which was expected to finalised last week, has taken longer than expected due to a reported ‘loyalty bonus’ in Ibrahimovic’s PSG contract. However, Man United and Zlatan’s agents are relaxed about the situation and a verbal agreement exists between the parties. The medical for the Swede is expected to go through smoothly provided there are no injury concerns as a result of his involvement in Euro 2016.

Zlatan provides experience to a young Manchester United strike force

Manchester City vs Paris Saint-Germain
With young guns like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard featuring in attack for the Manchester United first team, Jose Mourinho would love to see an experienced figure like Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading and mentoring the young forwards at Old Trafford.

Captain Wayne Rooney has evolved into an attacking midfielder in recent times after his performances leading the United line were considered lacklustre due to his loss of pace and acceleration with age. A player like Zlatan, who has won 10 league titles in the last 11 years of his professional career, would be an invaluable addition to the relatively young and inexperienced dressing room at United, which needs a boost to help the club regain their status as the dominant force in English football.
