According to reports, incoming manager Antonio Conte wants to keep hold of Chelsea’s Oscar for the upcoming season and Fenerbache want to take striker Loic Remy on loan.
Since arriving in 2012 along with Eden Hazard, Oscar has never quite been able to live up to his potential at the Bridge. At Internacional he was widely regarded as future world-beater, but things haven’t gone according to plan for the Brazilian following his big money move to London. Though there have been moments of brilliance from the midfielder, he has failed to deliver consistently and injuries and the fact that he has played over 200 games for club and country in the past 4 years hasn’t helped his cause.
Over the past few seasons, he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Juventus always featuring in a list of suitors. Last year, it was reported that Biaconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri expressed his desire to bring the playmaker to Turin. Oscar was once again linked with a move to Juventus this season and it was reported that he wouldn’t be featuring in incoming manager Antonio Conte’s plans.
But now Express has reported that the Brazilian is set to stay on at Stamford Bridge. The report says that Conte has told Oscar that he has a future with the Blues and wants him to stay on another season in London and be a part of his Chelsea revolution. It now seems as if Conte wants to give the 24-year-old a chance to impress, but Juventus are still in the hunt for a trequartista and big enough offer might yet tempt Conte to do business with his former club.
Fenerbache’s set sights on Remy
Loic Remy was left out of his country’s national squad for the Euros due to lack of game time and a serious drop in form. He moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2014 and was an integral part in their journey to win the Premier League. 7 of his 9 goals that season all came at crucial moments in the league and helped them cover up in the absence of Costa and Drogba.
This season hasn’t gone well for the Frenchman, with injuries and all round terrible form at the club has seen him get on the scoresheet only thrice for the Blues. Now according to Sabah (via talkSport), Fenerbace are trying to bring the former Marseille striker to Istanbul next season. It was reported earlier that Lazio had set their sights on Robin Van Persie and it is likely that should he leave, the Turks would swoop in for Loic Remy.
The report states that the Turkish giants feel that the 29-year-old forward is perfectly suited to lead their attack for next season but wish to bring him on loan for a season, before considering a permanent move. It further states that Chelsea would let this move happen only if the Sarı Kanaryalar were willing to pay a part of his wages. With Pato and Falcao set to leave the club and Chelsea looking for a world class name to partner Costa upfront, it is likely that Remy will be sacrificed to make place for any new names upfront.
