Kalidou in Conte’s Chelsea

Conte is rumoured to be planning a huge rebuilding job at Stamford Bridge this summer after he takes over at the helm and Chelsea have been linked with Kostas Manolas, John Stones, and Simon Kjaer amongst others, in order to revamp their ailing defence. But Kalidou Koulibaly is by far the best of the lot.

The big Senegalese has enjoyed a fantastic season at Napoli, helping the Partenopei finish second on the Serie A table this term. His nickname is ‘K2’ and it only takes one look to reaslise why. At 6’5, Koulibaly is a towering force of nature. He is extremely fast for his size and a big presence in the air. His strength and stamina should make him feel right at home in the English game.

After moving to Naples in 2014 from Racing Genk, Koulibaly failed to make an impact under Rafa Benitez. But since the the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, Koulibaly has gone on to become an integral part of of Napoli’s side and one of the best center backs in Europe. His position, intelligence and tactical awareness is something that Conte would love to exploit in his 3-man defensive formation.
