Antonio Conte looking to bring Juventus winger Asamoah to Chelsea

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to bring Juventus winger Kwadwo Asamoah to Chelsea in the summer.

The Ghanaian international had previously worked with Antonio Conte when he was manager of Juventus. According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the duo may once again team up at Chelsea if the move takes place. In an attempt to add more strength and pace to the squad, Conte could be willing to spend a large sum of money to bring his former player to Chelsea. It is believed that Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich would be willing to part with €20-25m to bring Asamoah to Chelsea.

On his day, Asamoah is a force to be reckoned with. His versatility is one of his main strengths and although he is predominantly used on the left wing for Juventus and for the national team, he can also play as a central attacking midfielder or striker. He has also been used by Conte to play as a left wing back.

Asamoah To Chelsea

Asamoah would bring some much needed physicality to this Chelsea side and his work rate can be compared to that of Willian. He tracks back to help out in defence, something Conte absolutely demands from his players. His physicality and stamina would be well suited to the English game and he isn’t afraid to get into a tussle for the ball, with his strength and physicality as a ball winner giving him a key advantage. His pace with the ball helps him make smooth transitions from defence to attack and has proven to be dangerous while going forward on the counter.

Asamoah had appeared 11 times in the Serie A for Juventus this term, after an injury hit campaign. His place in the starting 11 has been lost out to other players after he suffered 3 separate injuries this season. The Ghanaian has never truly recovered after a terrible injury he suffered in the 2014-15 season, and this has seen him participate lesser for the Biaconeri.
A move to London would suit him, and under Conte he can find some of the form that helped him become a regular for Juventus before his injuries. It is no secret that Juventus are looking to strengthen and it is likely that the Biaconeri will consider this move.
