Chelsea’s much maligned star Eden Hazard believes his terrible season will be forgotten by the fans if he has a good individual tournament at Euro 2016.
The Belgian has had a torrid season with Chelsea, registering 3 and 3 assists in the domestic league the whole season. However, the former Premier League Player of the Year thinks that he can erase the memory from the minds of the fans and put it behind him if he performs well for his country in the upcoming European Championships in France.
“I hope to return to top form,” Hazard told Canal+ (via Goal). “I know that if I have a good Euros, my bad season will be forgotten.” He’s had to fight multiple injuries this season and that has contributed to his dismal form.”I am at 80-85 per cent of my abilities, physical fitness comes with games.”
Hazard’s Future
For the Euros, Belgium are in Group E along with Sweden, Italy and the Republic of Ireland. Belgium are expected to easily qualify for the knockout stages along with previous year’s finalists, Italy.
