Hazard drops biggest hint yet regarding Chelsea FC future

Eden Hazard’s future has been under a lot of speculation but the Chelsea FC star has hinted that he might stay at the club next season.

Hazard has been in extremely poor form, managing to score only one goal in the Premier League so far this season, which also coincided with Chelsea’s catastrophic title defence.

These poor performances have attracted a lot of criticism for the player and the club, with a number of rumours suggesting Hazard will be on the move in the summer. However, Hazard has now dropped a hint that he might be staying at the Stamford Bridge.

“It is important to finish the season well, for the players who go to the Euros and to prepare for the next season, because we have a lot of games again to play next season and if we want to start really well next season we have to finish this season well,” Hazard was quoted saying on Chelsea’s official website.

The Blues are set to play a London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night. Although this fixture does not hold much importance for Chelsea with regards to their position, it is an important game for Spurs who must win it in order to keep their title hopes alive.

However, Hazard said the Blues need to end the season on a winning note in order to get some confidence ahead of the next season.

“Yes, the game is important. But also the next one and the next one and the next one. We have four games to play and we want to finish the best we can,” said Hazard. “Four games and if we can beat all of the four opponents it will be good.”

Risk of losing the top players?

Not being able to qualify for the Champions League is a huge blow for any top team that has a big wage bill. Chelsea have one of the most expensive squads in the league. However, with the Blues failing to qualify for Europe this season, there is a huge risk that a few of their top players might leave the club.

There have already been rumours that Chelsea’s no.1 goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois might leave Stamford Bridge in search of Champions League action. Also, with Antonio Conte set to take over as the manager of the club next season, a number of players (who do not fit into Conte’s system) could be on the move too.
