The recently crowned PFA young player of the year was involved in some questionable on-field actions that could see him suspended for the rest of the season.

Dele Alli had a forgettable match against West Brom and landed himself in major trouble. The teenage midfielder appeared to punch Claudio Yacob in the stomach in an incident which went unnoticed by the referee. After the match, however, the videos were seen by the FA and they have now charged Alli with violent conduct.

“Dele Alli has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video,” said the FA in an official statement.

“The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was involved in an incident with West Bromwich Albion’s Claudio Yacob in the 26th minute of the game last night (Monday 25 April 2016).

“He has until 6pm on Wednesday 27 April to reply.”

If Alli is found guilty, he will have to sit out a three match ban. With just three matches left to go in the Premier League, this effectively means that he would be ruled out for the rest of this season.

Leicester City on the brink of victory

Leicester City vs Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur were involved in a must win clash against West Brom on Monday. Leicester City had already taken an 8 point lead after romping past Swansea City, and the onus was on Spurs to get all three points against the Baggies to keep the pressure on the Foxes. They ended up virtually destroying their title hopes by eking out a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

There is now a seven point difference between the top two. With just three matches left to go, Leicester City could claim the title at Old Trafford if they manage to beat Manchester United. A victory at the Theater of Dreams would take their points tally to 79, which Spurs can’t surpass with their present tally at 69 points.

Tottenham will be hoping that Leicester slip up against Manchester United, but the vast majority of football fans are now on Leicester bandwagon and will be geared up for a title winning match that will go down in the annals of history as an inspirational triumph.
