Linked with clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, Barcelona star Neymar singled out Pep Guardiola as a manager he would like to work with in the future. The Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from Barcelona and with Pep Guardiola set to join the Premier League next season, Neymar could move to England in order to play under the current Bayern Munich manager.

Manchester United did make an official bid for Neymar last summer with Barcelona immediately rejecting the offer, according to the player’s father. The club has also been linked with a move for Pep Guardiola who has confirmed that he will move to England following a three year stint at Bayern Munich.

I would love to work with Guardiola, says Neymar

Speaking in an interview with Red Bull, Neymar singled out Pep Guardiola as a manager he would ‘love to work with’ in the future.

Guardiola is a guy that I really admire and who I would love to work with.”

Though the Brazilian claimed to be ‘very happy’ at Barcelona, he did speak about shifting to other countries in the future.

“I want to go back to Brazil some day and I also would like to play in the United States – those two countries are where I want to play later on my career.”

Guardiola could bring Neymar to England in the near future

Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City this summer. However, city rivals Manchester United are also on the look-out for a new manager and could turn to the former Barcelona manager as Louis van Gaal’s replacement. Despite Mourinho being available, Manchester United have retained the Dutchman, with many suggesting that the club is keen on luring Pep Guardiola to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Such a move would bolster Manchester United’s chances of signing the Brazilian superstar from Barcelona. Currently in his third season at Camp Nou, Neymar is also being targeted by Real Madrid with critics touting him as Lionel Messi’s heir apparent in world football. However, having just won the treble with Barcelona, such transfer rumours could also be a ploy employed by the player to sign a lucrative contract extension at the club.
