Manchester United’s disgruntled goal keeper Victor Valdes has sealed his loan move to Belgian giants Standard Liege for the remainder of the season.
A statement released by Manchester United’s official website read, “Manchester United and Standard Liege have reached agreement for the temporary transfer of goalkeeper Victor Valdes, effective until the end of the current season.”
Valdes had posted a tweet from his official account earlier in the week where he thanked Manchester United fans for their support during his tumultuous stay at the club.

Valdes ends United nightmare after sealing loan move
It is no exaggeration to say that Valdes has endured a hellish experience since arriving at Old Trafford last winter. The former FC Barcelona goal keeper has made just two appearances since signing for United a year ago. Valdes had a public falling out with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who later condemned him to play for the reserves.
His move to United was preceded by an injury ridden one year spell at FC Barcelona which saw him seek first team opportunities somewhere else. Valdes will be hoping to recapture the same heights at the Liege that saw him lift numerous trophies at Barcelona.
