Jurgen Klopp seems to be intent on bringing compatriot Marc-Andren ter Stegen to Liverpool FC, as he tries to solve his problems in front of goal.

Klopp is rumoured to be a longstanding admirer of Ter Stegen, and with Liverpool FC leaking soft goals this season, Simon Mignolet’s place under the bar seems to be under threat.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager is trying to force his hand with the top bosses at Liverpool FC, to shell out the cash to land Ter Stegen from FC Barcelona, according to a report in Spanish outlet Don Balon.

However, FC Barcelona are not willing to let the German go cheaply, and are ready to take the negotiations right down to the wire to keep Ter Stegen at the Camp Nou, if reports from Spain are to be believed.

A high pirce to pay

Ter Stegen is currently valued at around £12 million by Transfermarkt. Liverpool FC have also reportedly bid £10.8 million for the custodian earlier this month. However, FC Barcelona had reportedly turned down the bid, saying that they would not entertain offers below the amount of £23 million.

Ter Stegen to get more game time at Anfield

Currently, Ter Stegen is having to play second fiddle to Claudio Bravo at FC Barcelona, which is not doing his chances of going to the Euro 2016 any good. However, a transfer to Liverpool FC could help him get more game time, and catch the eye of German national team coach Joachim Löw. While Klopp has been trying to back his current No. 1 in front of the media, a move for Ter Stegen is highly likely on Liverpool FC’s part too.
