The Premier League is witnessing an influx of foreign managers at big clubs, and this season’s biggest import Jurgen Klopp has some words of wisdom for the next big potential manager in the league — Pep Guardiola.

Klopp has brought a bit of German flair into Anfield, but is currently thinking about how to tackle a hectic run of fixtures for Liverpool as they have to balance their Europa League and Premier League commitments, as well as play Exeter City again in the FA Cup and welcome Stoke City to Anfield for the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final.

Football, Football, Football

Klopp was used to a much lighter work schedule in Germany and when asked about whether he had any words of advice for Pep Guardiola, who is rumoured to be joining Manchester City next season, he stressed this point above all others.

“I don’t have to tell Pep Guardiola anything because he is that experienced. [But] the number of games is the biggest difference”, he was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

“In Germany, when you tell people about the FA Cup that if you draw you play again they say: ‘What?’ Here you have penalties and extra time, but only after the second game. That’s the thing, the number of games – football, football, football”, he added while speaking about the difference between the Premier League and Bundesliga, where Pep Guardiola is currently coaching Bayern Munich.

Klopp likes England otherwise

Apart from the hectic match schedule, Klopp said that he’s enjoying his time in England, but did take a dig at the weather conditions in the country.

“What I can say about here is very positive. It’s a great country, great people, the food is much better than everybody said and the weather is not great, like everyone said.”
