Manuel Pellegrini Delighted With ‘Aggressive’ City; Hails His Argentine Striker

Manchester City knocked off Norwich City in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, as Manuel Pellegrini’s men emerged 3-0 victors at Carrow Road. Pellegrini was delighted with his side’s performance, and heaped praise on star striker Sergio Aguero.

Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kevin De Bruyne found the net, in what was a comprehensive win for Manchester City.

Pellegrini delighted with performance

The Chilean rested quite a few first team players for this tie, but was delighted with the way his side’s display away from home.

“It was a very good performance against a difficult team at their own stadium where they are in a good moment. I think that from the beginning we were a very aggressive team and we came for the win,” Pellegrini said, as reported by the club’s official website.

Praises Aguero

Aguero has been plagued with injuries this season, and while concerns regarding the Argentine’s fitness still remain, Pellegrini is confident that Aguero will improve as we enter the business end of the campaign.

“When Sergio starts playing more games, he always improves his performance. He scored a beautiful goal and I’m sure that every game he plays he will perform because we know that he is a top player.”

Focus should shift to the league

Manchester City’s next two league games are against Everton and Crystal Palace at home, and Pellegrini acknowledged the fact that it is a great chance to reduce the 3 point gap with Arsenal.

With Arsenal facing Liverpool on Thursday, Manchester City must pounce on any slip-up by the Gunners.
