Goalkeeper Alisson is back in the starting lineup for Liverpool as they take on arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, but Mohamed Salah misses out.
Liverpool welcome back first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker into the starting lineup for their blockbuster clash against bitter rivals Manchester United today. The Brazilian international had been out of action since the opening day of the season when he picked up a calf injury, but is back into the team replacing summer signing Adrian.
There is another boost in defence as Joel Matip, who recently signed a new contract with the club, also returns to the team after missing the last two matches with a knock. The Cameroonian replaces Dejan Lovren, who started the last game against Leicester City. The rest of the backline remains intact with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson starting again.

There are no surprises in the middle of the park with Jurgen Klopp opting for the trusted trio of Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum and captain Jordan Henderson, with James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the bench.
The biggest news though is that star attacker Mohamed Salah misses out of the matchday squad completely. The Egyptian had sustained an injury in the game against Leicester and has seemingly not recovered quickly enough to make the squad against Manchester United. In his stead, Divock Origi starts in attack, alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
