Chelsea managed to pull off a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the International Champions Cup despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half following a red card for Cesc Fabregas.
Gary Cahill’s 10th minute header proved to be sufficient for Chelsea as they defeated fellow Premier League side Liverpool in the International Champions Cup. Deep into the second half, Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas made a needless lunge on Reds’ new signing Ragnar Klavan, which saw him receive a straight red card.
Here’s how fans reacted to a feisty pre-season game between the two English sides:
If the PL refs apply the rules about surrounding the ref, I look forward to Chelsea finishing their 1st game with 3 men! ?

Fans also had plenty to say about Fabregas’ tackle on Klavan:
Glad to see Fabregas is setting the tone for the new season already.

Klavan “When we play Everton I’ll hurt someone” hahaha he got bullied by Fabregas.

Liverpool fans will just blame their loss on that Fabregas tackle and talk about it for the next decade.

Beating the scousers in a friendly and Fabregas sent off for a two footed leg breaker is the highlight of pre-season 2016-17 soccer for me.

Liverpool’s new midfield signing Marko Grujic suffered a head injury in the game and had to be taken to the hospital.

So I fell asleep 30mins before the game then wake up too we’ve been kicked the shit out off lost 1-0 and Grujic doesn’t know what day it is?

Grujic’s clash of head was definitely quite bad. Got head-butted on the side of head, the weakest spot.
