Manchester United and Chelsea target Alvaro Morata took to Instagram to bid farewell to Juventus after Real Madrid chose to exercise their buy-back clause .
After 2 successful years in Turin, Alvaro Morata is set to return to his native Spain, in the summer. The striker, who is currently with Spain’s European Championship contingent in France, moved to Juventus in search of game time after finding himself behind Benzema, Di Maria, Bale and Ronaldo in the pecking order.
Morata’s exploits with the Biaconeri over the course of the past two campaigns has attracted interest from European giants such as Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, Real Madrid have excercised their buy-back clause for the young Spanish international, recalling the striker back to Santiago Bernabeu. Real are, however, expected to sell the 23-year-old at a transfer fee of around €60 million.
In light of his departure, Morata took to Instagram to post a heartfelt letter, bidding adieu to the club where he made such fond memories.
The letter translates as,
“Hello everyone. Writing this letter isn’t easy for me. I’d like firstly to thank all the people who believed in me, who placed their faith in me and who treated me extremely well to make me happy at Juventus and in Turin. Thanks to president Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, John Elkan, Giuseppe Marotta, Matteo Fabris and above all to Fabio Paratici and Javier Ribalta. Thanks to all the people who work for this immense club that is Juventus. Workers, physiotherapists, doctors, security, chefs. In brief, thanks to all who are part of Juve. Thanks of course to all the Juventus fans in the world for their unconditional love and support, which was never lacking. Thanks to the Coach for believing in me and for turning me into a better footballer, to the captains who took care of me with such dedication and to my teammates for all the incredible days I spent with them, because winning with them was spectacular. I remain marked by this club, its history and all of you. Wherever I go I’ll always feel like a Juventino and I’ll be able to say with pride and in a loud voice that I wore the Juventus colours and that I was one of their champions. Thanks once again to everyone for letting me be part of this family.”

Since moving to Juventus in the summer of 2014, for around €20 million, Morata became a fan favourite at Turin as he helped the Old Lady to 2 Coppa Italiana titles, 2 Serie A titles and a Champions League final.
