Barcelona saw their La Liga advantage disappear as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Valencia. Frustrations boiled over following the final whistle and Brazilian forward Neymar was seen indulging in some unsportsmanlike behaviour.

As La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid registered impressive victories over Getafe and Granada respectively, Barca lost their lead at the top as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Valencia. Lionel Messi scored his 500th career goal, but two first-half strikes helped Valencia win all three points.

Barcelona star Neymar was frustrated throughout the game and let his anger get the best of him after the final whistle. The Brazilian appeared to slap Valencia player Antonio Barragan as the latter celebrated with his teammates after the final whistle.
