Lionel Messi scored his 500th career goal, but two first-half strikes helped Valencia win all three points.
Barcelona star Neymar was frustrated throughout the game and let his anger get the best of him after the final whistle. The Brazilian appeared to slap Valencia player Antonio Barragan as the latter celebrated with his teammates after the final whistle.
