Report reveals how Liverpool players feel about Arne Slot

Mohamed Salah aimed a thinly veiled dig at Arne Slot after Liverpool were beaten by Aston Villa in the Premier League recently.

The Egyptian International demanded improvement from the team and revealed that they need to change their style and revert to the heavy-metal football played under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool have been criticised for their style of football under Arne Slot, and Salah’s remarks only underline that the players also share the fans’ frustration. According to a report from Football Insider, other players share the Egyptian attacker’s view, and the Netherlands manager has clearly lost his players’ trust.

Pete O’Rourke explained on Football Insider: “It was a stinging criticism from Mohamed Salah in that Instagram post that he put out about Liverpool and Arne Slot.

“It’s obviously going to have increased pressure on increased scrutiny on Slot’s long-term future as well.

“Obviously the statement from Mohamed Salah won’t have helped him.

“Reading between the lines, with so many players commenting and liking makes you think, is Salah speaking for the dressing room? Is there dressing room unrest at Anfield?

“You would think there is with what’s going on there as well.

“He’s obviously lost faith with the fans and if he’s now lost the players as well it’s going to be very hard for him to turn around.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool is willing to persist with Slot beyond this season.

Even though Liverpool have had multiple injury problems and they are coping with the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, there is no doubt that they should have done a lot better. They have lacked fight and desire at times this season.

In addition, the manager’s philosophy has left fans frustrated on a weekly basis. He also fell out with a club legend like Salah, who called him out publicly after being dropped from the starting lineup midway through the season.

Liverpool should replace Slot

Liverpool clearly needs a change, and it remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy can bring in a quality manager in the summer. There is no doubt they have talented players at their disposal, but they need new leadership to succeed next season.

Liverpool have finished fifth in the Premier League table with 60 points from 38 matches. In most other seasons, it would not have been enough to secure Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign. However, several teams have underperformed in the league this season, and Liverpool has secured Champions League football for the upcoming campaign.

They should now look to make amends and bring in a manager who can get the best out of the team and help them bounce back strongly.
