Chelsea eyeing Matthias Jaissle as Liam Rosenior replacement

Chelsea have identified Matthias Jaissle as an ideal replacement for Liam Rosenior, who has recently been relieved of his duties.

After a run of five straight defeats in the Premier League, Liam Rosenior was sacked by Chelsea, and the club have already started looking for a potential replacement. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Blues are interested in appointing Ralf Rangnick’s disciple, Matthias Jaissle, as their next boss.

The London club have already carried out groundwork on the highly-rated German coach. After managing multiple Red Bull-owned clubs, Jaissle made the move to the Middle East in the summer of 2023. He has managed Al-Ahli in 131 matches and averages 2.13 points.

While he is only 38, he has a great track record in his different managerial projects. Jaissle could be an ideal fit to manage a young Chelsea squad with some exceptional talent. He loves playing an attacking and attractive brand of football, which could bring out the best in the London club’s squad.

Chelsea will have to be very careful with their next managerial appointment, given their recent track record. They have brought in some top managers, but the desired results haven’t been achieved. While things were starting to click under Enzo Maresca, he was sacked after his relationship with the board broke down.

They replaced him with Liam Rosenior, but the results didn’t go their way, and he was shown the exit door following their 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend. This was their seventh defeat in eight Premier League matches and their fifth straight defeat without scoring a goal.

Chelsea making moves to appoint their next manager

While they were hoping to have Rosenior around at least until the end of the season, the dressing room had turned against him, and it reportedly influenced the board’s decision. The Blues have started looking for their next manager, and they have quite a few names on their wishlist.

Jaissle is one of the names on their radar. Having spent around three years in the Middle East, the 38-year-old is ready to return to Europe. He has impressed with his progressive coaching style and structured systems, and the Blues believe he could help guide them back to the top of English football.

He is one of the disciples of Rangnick, who has played a big role in the development of managers like Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp, and Oliver Glasner. Jaissle, who is only 38, has an impressive 65.98% win rate, which suggests he is on the right track. While it might be a bold move, it could work out in their favour. However, Chelsea do have other targets on their radar.
